I'm trying to run a Python file called "keywords". However, in pycharm, the Import AlchemyAPI is in red error. I have added the API key to the text file and have renamed the module AlchempyAPI (as before it had "-2.5" attached to the name).
I still get the error:
No Module Named AlchemyAPI.
What can I do next?
AlchemyAPI recently released a new Python SDK that is easier to use and will likely solve your issue. You can find it on GitHub.

I am new to PyCharm (coming from RStudio world). I am just trying to setup a PyCharm project. My first line of code is google library import (Later I intend to write codes for pulling data from BigQuery).
But I am getting an error saying ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'google' in PyCharm. I tried suggested solutions for a very similar stackoverflow question.
I also tried invalidating cache and restart by doing File >
I can see that the google is installed in the Python interpreter. I am not able to figure out what's the issue. To me looks like it is related to the way we setup environment in PyCharm.
Edit: I checked Project interpreter and Run Configuration interpreter. Both match and still get the same thing.
The library you want to use is not named google, is called google-cloud-bigquery, just install that one.
Look here:
https://cloud.google.com/python/docs/reference/bigquery/latest#windows
I guess you know, but you can install it with pip (like in the above link) or in Pycharm settings (clicking in the + in your third screenshot).
Panel and other holoviz package was working fine. But since yesterday, it is not working and gives following error. I checked the site packages, tried creating cond and venv based virtual environments, but dint help me. Has anyone faced similar issue?
Code:
from panel.pane import PaneBase
Error message:
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named "panel.pane"
'panel' is not a package
This error:
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'panel.pane'; 'panel' is not a package
may also occur if you have named the main program file you created as panel.py and try to run it as python panel.py or another file has the name panel.py in the same folder from which you run your program. Python will consider your program file as a module and try to find something in it that is naturally not in it. About where Python is looking for modules, see sys.path.
In this case, rename your program file so that its name does not equal with the name of the imported module.
This is a bit long so bear with me.
I am trying to learn both Python and Linux and am very new to both. I am currently doing some reading on deep learning from the following:
http://neuralnetworksanddeeplearning.com/chap1.html
I am attempting to import the mnist_loader package to use the associated data for testing the script that was previously written. However, upon typing import mnist_loader into the Linux command line, I was given the following:
"the program 'import' can be found in the following packages:"
at which point it listed some packages. Because I'm new to Linux and I don't have admin privileges, I decided to go a route that I understood better; that is to create a new python script and simply use the import command within (which has worked in all previous attempts).
I created a python script and tried import mnist_loader and received the following error:
"ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'mnist_loader'"
I then checked my C drive and found that the file was indeed there. Here is a link to the Git repository where the files may be found:
https://github.com/MichalDanielDobrzanski/DeepLearningPython35
Next I moved on to trying to directly input the path to the file as follows:
import importlib.util
mnist_loader = importlib.util.spec_from_file_location("mnist_loader",r"C:\Users\XXXXXX\Documents\neural-networks-and-deep-learning-master\neural-networks-and-deep-learning-master\src\mnist_loader.py")
training_data, validation_data, test_data = mnist_loader.load_data_wrapper()
However, this produced the following error:
"AttributeError: 'ModuleSpec' object has no attribute 'load_data_wrapper'"
Note: the last line is used to collect the necessary data from the nist files.
I am running out of thoughts at this point and would love some feedback on all my "wrongdoings" up till now.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. It is worth noting that the book uses a package designed for Python 2.X whereas I am using 3.6. The readme provided by the book file location mentioned a different location where a Python 3.6 version could be found which is what I am going with.
Been a while since I have worked with Python, but I have some ideas as to what would cause the specific errors you are seeing. First I would suggest setting a PYTHON_PATH environment variable with the path you have that contains the module you want to import, this does not require administrator privileges fortunately. As for the load_data_wrapper attribute, you might have to do a from from mnist_loader import * to import all the functions inside the mnist_loader module.
I can't get this simple statement to work:
from plyer import notification
getting:
ImportError: cannot import name 'notification'
the import statement is correct and is used the same way in examples.
I couldn't find any special instructions to use this library so I'm assuming there aren't any.
I installed plyer using pip and it installed successfully. verified the files are in place. I tried using python 3.5 and 3.6, same result.
It seems the package is recognized but just the module isnt found?
Would appreciate some insight :)
A common cause for this kind of problem is having a script or module by the same name in a location that comes before the expected module or package's location in sys.path so it gets imported instead of the expected module or package.
The simple way to sort this out is to add this simple line before:
import plyer; print(plyer);
and check the result which will diplay the path of whatever named plyer was first found. Chances are it's a script in your current working directory...
I'm positive that I'm doing something wrong, but I've looked around and the solutions presented have not worked for me.
I'm writing a bot for ZNC running under Windows 10/cygwin64 (which allows python based scripts). One of the functions I'm trying to write requires the "requests" python module, but when I try to run the python bot, it throws this error:
ImportError: No module named 'requests'
I've tried placing the "requests" source in the same folder as the bot's .py file. I've also tried easy_install to no avail.
Oddly enough, I was toying around with another python module that was required, and it worked as soon as I placed it's source in the same folder.
The version of python that ZNC is running is 3.4.
Edit: I noticed that cygwin64 stores the python bins and libs for ZNC under a specific sub-folder. I've therefore installed the "requests" module under the relative lib/site-packages directory. I think it worked, as far as the module being visible, but now ZNC crashes as soon as I load that bot script. It throws this:
cygwin_exception::open_stackdumpfile: Dumping stack trace to
znc.exe.stackdump
When I check that stackdump, it has the following:
Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION at rip=001801A62CD
