I am getting an error when I am trying to do a

Any idea what could be the reason?
Read your debug messages more careful.
Error is "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket". U should check your connection params at settings.py
The default path to MySQL socket doesn't work on MacOS X.
This SO question provides a good answer to that problem, along with some handy links for further reading.

I'm a beginner with Django working on an open source project, which has been very challenging since it only gives build instructions for Mac, and not Linux. So, on my Ubuntu server, I've managed to install all the packages and fix a few initial bugs, but now, when I do python manage.py migrate, I'm stuck with this error: django.db.utils.OperationalError: fe_sendauth: no password supplied
I'm totally stuck here: I'm having a tough time understanding the error message, and other solutions aren't much help. Other solutions indicate that you have to change the DATABASES setting in the settings.py, but the setting has no PASSWORD attribute and it's only linked to sqlite:
DATABASES = {
'default': {
'ENGINE': 'django.db.backends.sqlite3',
'NAME': os.path.join(BASE_DIR, 'db.sqlite3'),
}
}
DATABASES['default'] = dj_database_url.config()
The error doesn't trace back to any specific lines of code so I'm guessing its more related to psycopg2 or django than the code itself, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing it. I'm using Python 2.7.17 and Ubuntu 18.04.5. Here's the full error message:

Again, I'm very new to Django and Postgres, so I may be missing something obvious. It's equally likely that the code just doesn't work on Linux or that there's some unfixed bug in it. Any help would be appreciated.
As Vineet pointed out, the DATABASES['default'] = dj_database_url.config() line was overwriting the configuration, and as a result the 'PASSWORD' and other attributes existed and were blank. I added this line after it:
del DATABASES['default']['PASSWORD'], DATABASES['default']['HOST'], DATABASES['default']['PORT']
and the problem has been solved.
I am running a Django and attempting to connect to a MySQL server at my university.
First of all:
In order to connect the database, I normally SSH into a remote server (with authentication) of theirs, and then run MySQL and enter my MySQL authentications.
This works without an issue, in Terminal as well as DataGrip.
Now, using PyCharm, I have installed mysqlclient in the intepreter and changed my
settings.py:
DATABASES = {
'default': {
'ENGINE': 'django.db.backends.mysql',
'NAME': '[DB_NAME]',
'USER': '[DB_USERNAME]',
'PASSWORD': '[DB_PASSWORD]',
'HOST': '[REMOTE SERVER ADDRESS HOSTING MYSQL]',
'PORT': '3306',
}
}
Also using PyCharm, I have even opened up a data source in the Data Sources Tool Window and connected through SSH tunnel and MySQL authentication to the database. This is successful, and it is possible to make queries.
However, I try to run:
manage.py check
and I receive:

'PASSWORD': 'admin',

but when I am running migrate I am running in to following problem. I want to connect the postgres to my django

django.db.utils.OperationalError
I have checked with python script the psycopg2 is able to connect the database in postgresql but when I am running migrate from django project, its not working and getting above error.
Your postgres server is not started. You need to start the server first. Django does not come with postgres or any DB server. It provides connectors and ORM for these DB servers. Install postgres , create user and db as per your DATABASE settings in django, the errors should go.
If you dont know how to install postgres, then google.
Hope this helps.
You need to change 'User' to 'USER' in your DATABASES settings.
I use django_celery with connecting to Amazon Redshift. To migrate database, after "makemigrations" I used command "python manage.py migrate" and error message show up as shown below.
The reason is Redshift does not support data type 'serial' but the 'django_migrations' table that contain 'serial' type is automatically created.
How to stop Django Migrations create this table or avoid using serial on 'django_migrations' table.

Are you trying to use Redshift as the backend database for your web application? That's a bad idea, Redshift is a data warehouse and as such individual query performance and latency are far from great, not to mention that Redshift doesn't enforce primary keys, which almost surely Django expects.
My recommendation, use PostgreSQL.
I am trying to install Socorro on fresh Ubuntu 10.04 (Amazon EC2). I am following this manual and I am on the step 6.2.8, and I am having a problem with following command:
./manage.py syncdb --noinput
This is the error:
django.db.utils.OperationalError: unable to open database file
What seems to be the problem?
And this is the hole log:
Syncing...
Raven is not configured (logging is disabled). Please see the documentation for more information.
