Can anyone explain to me how to import the Python colors? This is for a programming assignment, but I'm stuck here and can't find tutorials online.
I tried from livewires import games, color
File "/Users/username/Desktop/Programming100/PhysicsLab/PhysicsCsLab.py", line 2, in <module>
ImportError: No module named livewires
I wanted to color shapes such as ellipse, rect, etc., but I don't know how that can be made possible.
Edit: I don't know if this matters or not, but I'm using CALICO.
This just means that you haven't installed the package. Or you have installed it, but the python interpreter you're using the run the script does not does not have it installed. This can often happen when pip is defined for one python interpreter in particular.
If you have not installed it then you can do so using:
pip install livewires
If that does not help, you're going to go into your interpreter's location, go into Scripts and then use pip install livewires.
You don't have the python's package named livewires. You can install it via pip like so: pip install livewires.
Do you mean terminal colors ?
You can try colorma - https://pypi.python.org/pypi/colorama and it works great!
I am not sure how will you draw shapes though. You can try using curses - http://docs.python.org/2/library/curses.html

I'm tyring to import wolfamalpha into my code but it gives a error saying:
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'wolframalpha'
I tried installing it with pip install wolframalpha, but it still doesn't work.
Here is my code:
import wolframalpha
client = wolframalpha.Client('*************')
When you run your python file, are you sure that you are using the correct python interpreter that you performed the pip install wolframalpha to? It sounds like you may have multiple versions of python on your machine and there is a mismatch. If you are using VSCode, it is easy to see which interpreter is running on the bottom of the screen, which may help you debug the issue.
Here is the error
import numpy
Exception has occurred: ModuleNotFoundError
No module named 'numpy'
File "C:\path\to\file\32.py", line 1, in <module>
import numpy
Let me know how did you install the NumPy package; using pip or something else?
If you have multiple python versions, i.e. 2.x and 3.x at the same time, please make sure your interpreter for the 32.py file is the version that you installed NumPy on.
To possibly fix your problem, you should first try installing it and see if there are any errors. You should also check the version of Python you are running on Windows 10, because when you update Python it sometimes switches names between py and python
As you can see, the version of Python has changed between py and python so you should try changing that first.
If this does not work, you should try finding the directory for NumPy and adding it to the system PATH in your script. The installer usually shows you the location by doing the following:
import sys
sys.path.append("<insert numpy location here>")
import NumPy
This should manually force it into finding the package. If none of this works, please tell us and we should be able to find a different solution.
Happy Coding!
If you're using a code editor like PyCharm, you could install it by clicking on
file then settings then the project interpreter setting and install new module! You can search for the module and install.
Make sure that the python version that you want to use is a Windows Environmental Variable. You can test this by running this line in your command line.
> python --version
If you get some other python version that is not the one that you wish to use you can set the python version you want by finding where exactly your Python folder is located and go into settings and set the path as a new variable (I can leave a tutorial for you). If that is too much of a hassle, the Python installers can set the python that you will install as an environmental variable for you. (You could uninstall and reinstall and make sure that you allow it to make it an environmental variable.
After that you should be able to import whatever external packages you want using pip
for example:
pip install numpy
I'm using a remote machine for computation and data analysis. I don't have sudo access in this machine, for data analysis purposes I want to use python libraries such as vtk etc since pip is not installed in this machine, I set up a 'virtual-environment' and install VTK there,
I used the method explained here (https://stackoverflow.com/a/13958308/10755782). Then I could install vtk in the virtual environment using pip.
But now the problem is that I can't import matplotlib.pyplot, it is giving me the error
ImportError: No module named Tkinter.
This error is strange because matplotlib.pyplot works in this particular system outside my virtual-environment. There are a few workarounds to start using matplotlib.pyplot without tkinter such as this (https://stackoverflow.com/a/49988926/10755782), but this is not helpfull in my case as this machine is remote-accessed and I need 'tkinter' to view the graphs on my screen.
I tried installing 'tkinter' inside my virtual-env, but I could not ( since we can't install 'tkinter' with pip and I don't have sudo access).
As I could not find any immediate solution to this problem anywhere I tried to fix this myself and I did the following,
inside my virtual environment, the version of matplotlib was 2.2.4 and outside it was 1.2.0 ( which is working fine). So I downgraded the version of matplotlib inside my virtual environment to 1.2.0
pip install 'matplotlib==1.2.0' --force-reinstall
now I have the same version of matplotlib inside and outside the virtual env. But now, when I try import matplotlilb.pyplot as plt I'm getting the error
ImportError: /b/home/ipcms/rcheenik/Python_virt-env/python2.7/my_new_env/lib/python2.7/site-
packages/matplotlib/_cntr.so: undefined symbol: _intel_fast_memset
Is there any way to fix this ^^ error? any of these following will be able to help me.
without OR is there any way to install tkinter without sudo ? or inside the 'virtual-environment' ?
OR is there any alternatives to matplotlib.pyplot which works without 'tkinter' and still display graphs remotely? ( not favourable, as I have to rewrite the entire code )
Thanks in advance for the help.
I found this answer to a similar question however, which I believe would solve your issue.
https://stackoverflow.com/a/49988926/8775307
It imports matplotlib.pyplot without tkinter. I don't know if all the features are actually included though, so you'll have to test and let us know :).
You could always write to the administrator and request Tkinter - it's a widely used and useful package, so they might be willing to include it.
I installed Pygame on my mac using Anaconda.
pip install pygame
>>>Requirement already satisfied: pygame in /anaconda/lib/python3.6/site-packages
The thing is, I do not know to use it now. When I run a simple file from my code editor it says:
File "/Users/julien/untitled5.py", line 1, in <module>
import pygame
ImportError: No module named pygame
any advice ? I tried to run pygame using spyder from the Ananconda Navigator bun it does not seem to work either.
The issue is that your IDE is looking in the wrong places for pygame. To see where it's looking for packages, run this script in the console for that IDE:
>>>import sys
>>>sys.path
This will show a list of paths where python looks for packages. /anaconda/lib/python3.6/site-packages won't be there, which is why you can't import it. What IDE are you using? Most are able to change their settings so that they can import from different places, see if you can do that, and put /anaconda/lib/python3.6/site-packages as part of the path.
Tl;dr I have been a dummy and messing with those things. I have been going to site_packages doing stuff I shouldn't have been doing and I have messed with my environment variables.... PATH.... PYTHONPATH.... I don't even know all of this stuff yet I have to research it more in depth. Bottom line is that when I'm trying to install a package using a package manager like pip to install opencv... it's installing fine supposedly but then I get the "no module named cv" error.
I tried importing cv and cv2.
I think I am having this problem because I have been messing with a lot of stuff I shouldn't have.
So how do I start a brand new slate?... I don't even know how many python versions I have...
