Pyqtgraph error when running built in examples - python

I'm trying to work out how to use pyqtgraph so that I can use it.
I've tried to run this block of code which I found on the pyqtgraph website
import pyqtgraph.examples
pyqtgraph.examples.run()
But it always throws this error
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/willemhandreck/Code/Misc.Projects/heater_alert/python/plotly_test.py", line 1, in <module>

How would I fix this?

Yep, same problem here if I try to use the built-in python on the mac.
My solution is to use the anaconda python distribution:
1) Download & install Anaconda python, which already has all the right scientific modules installed. http://continuum.io/downloads#all
2) Restart your terminal and ensure you have anaconda as your python:
$ which python
/Users/caleb/anaconda/bin/python
3) Then install pyqtgraph:
$ pip install pyqtgraph
...
Successfully installed pyqtgraph-0.9.10
4) Run the examples from the command line:
$ python -m pyqtgraph.examples
or use your import... run method above.
-Caleb

This is actually a good thing.
The system python ships installed and configured to run system utilities. It's a good idea to have a separate playpen for special packages, tweaks, upgrades, experiments.
Anaconda makes it autoeasy by containing itself and its packages all within its own directory and prevents messing up anything else.

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'PySide6' in Python using Visual Studio Code

*** Update ***
This issue was solved by whiteroom in the comments section. The issue was that the Python Interpreter setting needed to be changed to point to the correct one. The whiteroom question answer was also very helpful.
*** Original Question ***
I installed PySide6 on my MacBook and confirmed that it is installed as shown in the attached screen shot. I'm also very new to Python and using the Mac Terminal app.
pip3 install PySide6
I tried to run this simple app from the Visual Studio Code editor.
from PySide6.QtWidgets import QApplication,QLabel
app = QApplication([])
label = QLabel('hello world')
label.show()
app.exec()
Python responded with this error:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Users/emad-ud-deen/Development/Python/Practice/PySide6 Test.py", line 1, in <module>
from PySide6.QtWidgets import QApplication,QLabel
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'PySide6'
The only way I'm able to run the apps I write with PySide6 without that error is from the command line in Terminal.
Can you tell me how to get Visual Studio Code to recognise PySide6?
I have the same question with you, but I've just found a solution:
You can use command like this:
pip uninstall pyside6-addons
pip uninstall pyside6-essentials
pip uninstall pyside6
pip install pyside6-essentials
Actually, if you don't want to use so difficult plugins, just install PySide6-Essentials[1] is benefit for you :)

you can simply fix this problem by just changing the current version of your python to 3.8.10 from the down-right corner

I can`t import wxpython in anywhere except python console

I installed python 3.8.8 and installed wxpython using pip at terminal
pip install wxpython
and i run simple program
import wx
print(wx.version())
in pycharm and pycharm`s python console, I got
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'wx'
in IDLE, I got
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:/Users/tasoo/OneDrive/Desktop/wx.py", line 1, in <module>
import wx
File "C:/Users/tasoo/OneDrive/Desktop\wx.py", line 2, in <module>
print(wx.version())
AttributeError: partially initialized module 'wx' has no attribute 'version' (most likely due to a circular import)
in python.exe code works
I want to import wx in pycharm project.
I tried add python in system path but it didn`t work.
You have problem because you saved code in file wx.py and now import wx loads your file wx.py instead of module wx. Rename your file - ie. main.py instead of wx.py
PyCharm may have own Python installed and it may need to install wx in this Python.
Check
import sys
print(sys.executable)
to get full path to Python used by PyCharm and then use this path
/full/path/to/python -m pip install wx
Or search in PyCharm settings (in menu File) and change Python Interpreter.
In PyCharm for every project you may set different Python - if you have installed many versions.

wxPython import error with Windows install

I have installed Python 3.4 and wxPython Phoenix on Windows 10. I go into Eclipse and add wxPython to the external libs in my project, but when I try to import it, I get this error:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Users\linus\workspace\MiCS 1.2\main.py", line 1, in <module>
import wx
File "C:\Python34\Lib\site-packages\wx\__init__.py", line 17, in <module>
from wx.core import *
File "C:\Python34\Lib\site-packages\wx\core.py", line 6, in <module>
from ._core import *
ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found.
I did some searching and tinkering and still can't figure out what's causing it. It shouldn't be the msvcp or msvcr DLLs as I have Office running just fine (or is that an incorrect assumption?) Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
How did you install wxpython?
As of now, the top page of the official site has wxpython 3.0 only for python27. So, I suspect you might not have installed it properly.
If you have your python34 at C:/Python34 then, cd to C:/Python34/Scripts first so that we make sure to use the pip for this python.
According to this post (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/wxpython-dev/LmGIrQyh7jc), try
pip install -U --pre -f http://wxpython.org/Phoenix/snapshot-builds/ wxPython_Phoenix
This should find the corresponding whl file for your python version and CPU architecture.
Or, you could manually download whl file at http://wxpython.org/Phoenix/snapshot-builds/
If you have 32 bit Python34, then look for ******-cp34-none-win32.whl
and simply do:
pip install path/to/the/whl/that/you/just/downloaded/wxPython_Phoenix-3.0.3.dev1839+4ecd949-cp34-none-win32.whl
After this, if you can import wx in the normal cmd then the problem should be coming from eclipse.

Error during library import in Python (Windows)

I am trying to configure svn hook for email notification using mailer.py script from apache, but it always crash on import of svn libs. I try two ways of installing svn and python. I try to install everything manually using command line and use CollableNet installer that have preinstalled Python and all libs I need but result is the same.
Now I try to import one library from hole package that I need using python in command line and I have such response:
>>> import svn.core
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
ImportError: No module named svn.core
I try to fix it using:
1) import sys; sys.path.append("C:\csvn\lib\svn-python\svn")
and
2) C:\csvn\lib\svn-python\svn>python "\__init__.py" install
But it didn't help.
For now I have no package with setup.py to install it.
I spend a lot of time on this task, and going crazy a little). Please give me any suggestion how to fix it.

Python - cannot import slycot module in spyder (RuntimeError & ImportError)

When I try to import the slycot module in spyder (version 2.2), I get the following error:
RuntimeError: module compiled against API version 7 but this version of numpy is 6
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
File "/Applications/Spyder.app/Contents/Resources/lib/python2.7/slycot/__init__.py",
line 4, in <module>
from slycot.analysis import ab01nd,ab05md,ab05nd,ab07nd,ab08nd, ab09ad
File "/Applications/Spyder.app/Contents/Resources/lib/python2.7/slycot/analysis.py",
line 21, in <module>
from slycot import _wrapper
ImportError: numpy.core.multiarray failed to import
Now, when I import slycot in the python shell through my terminal, there are no problems at all. I think the reason why there are no problems through the terminal, is that I recently installed numpy 1.7.1. Spyder on the other hand still uses numpy 1.6.2.,hence the error.
I tried to change the numpy version in spyder, but so far that didn't work.
When I change the numpy(6) folder in my spyder lib with the recently installed numpy(7), I get the following error (in spyder):
ImportError: Error importing numpy: you should not try to import numpy from
its source directory; please exit the numpy source tree, and relaunch
your python intepreter from there.
What is the best way to solve this error?
Thanks in advance.
(Spyder dev here) At the moment it's not possible for the user to install anything inside the app. I guess you moved your slycot module from another interpreter to our App (because of the numpy error you mention).
The right way to use different modules not present in the app, is to change the path of your interpreter in:
Tools > Preferences > Console > Advanced settings > Python executable
If you installed slycot using your system Python, you have to select
/usr/bin/python
