Python3 and Qt Designer - Display an image in main window - python

I'm still new with python and Qt designer. I would like to develop an application where user need to press the 'pushbutton' in order to view the image(from local directory path) on GUI mainwindow.This will keep repeating until complete number of cycle.
Did tried using QLabel and QGraphiscView widget but doesn't work.(probably due to lack of knowledge). Could anyone help me to solve it?

Hide current QMainWindow when next QMainWindow is called

I have multiple windows in a Python GUI application using PyQt5.
I need to hide current window when a button is clicked and show the next window.
This works fine from WindowA to WindowB but I get an error while going from WindowB to WindowC.
I know there is some problem in initialization as the initialization code in WindowB is unreachable, but being a beginner with PyQt, i can't figure out the solution.
WindowA code:

It works fine from A to B where
WindowA.hide() # Works Properly
While calling WindowC from WindowB
WindowB.hide() # Shows error: name 'WindowB' is not defined
I understand that the initialization isn't done as the "if" statement doesn't get executed.
How to get this working?
I have many more windows to connect in this flow
When you run a Python script, the first file executed will be assigned the name __main__, therefore, if you first execute WindowA the code inside the block if __name__ == "__main__" gets executed and the application is started using WindowA as the main window, similarly if you execute your WindowB script first, the application will be started usingWindowB as the main window.
You cannot start two applications within the same process so you have to choose which one you want to be the main window, all the others will be secondary windows (even if they inherit from QMainWindow).
Nevertheless, you should be able to instantiate new windows from a method in your main window.
As a good practice, you could create a main script to handle the initialization of your application and start an empty main window that will then handle your workflow, also, you may want to wrap your UI classes, specially if they are generated using Qt creator, here is an example:

This is the main window, it doesn't do anything, just control the workflow of the application, i.e. load WindowA, then WindowB etc., notice that I inherit from Ui_MainWindow, by doing so, you can separate the look and feel from the logic and use Qt Creator to generate your UI:

Question - How do I add controls to the main form or a scroll area widget on the main form (created in QT Designer) programmatically?

As you can see I tried to add controls to a grid but nothing shows up when the program runs - I have also tried to add a control to the scroll area. Can someone help me to just add 1 control to the scroll area at run time - so then I can know the proper way to do it or "a" proper way to do this.

Without having access to your programLauncher.ui and making minimal changes to your posted code, you can add your UI elements to the window like so:

This will get the controls on the screen, although the layout leaves a lot to be desired. You may have to make modifications to this based on what's in your .ui file. One thing that you'll want to note in this example is that the QMainWindow needs a central widget (widget in the example above). You then set the layout on that widget.
You can use the designer to create your .ui file
The you can load it in your .py using something like:

then you can access all your widgets with something like

Take a blank form in QT Designer
Add a control
Run pyuic4 batch file
Take a look at the generated .py file to learn EVERYTHING about how to add controls.

PyQt5 & Qt Designer: why the second form displays a bad thing?

I can't make form1 to make parent object like it needs to be.
And all content in second form align to left-top corner and i have no way to make it work fine. May be someone know what i can do with this. Thank you!

I am new to Python Gui programming.
Each GUI form that you create in Qt Designer needs to be converted into a python module using pyuic. So, to start with, you need to do the same for currency.ui that you did for window_main.
Now you can import your currency window class into mainscreen.py, and connect a button to handler so you can display it.
The code would look something like this:

After looking at this example code, it will probably occur to you that you are going to end up importing a lot of modules, and have a lot of boiler-plate code to write for each one of them (which is not much fun).
So I would advise you to consider changing your GUI design, so that you have one main window containing a tabwidget, and then have a separate tab for each of your converters. This will not only make your application much easier to write, but it should also make it a lot nicer to use.
I'm making my bachelor thesis in PyQt4. First I also wanted to use the designer (generating code is nice), but afterall I was not using it during my work. Maybe it's a matter of taste.
But for your question (I did this without the QtDesigner):

Creating a transparent overlay with qt

I've been learning python recently and now I wanted to (try to) create my first real application, a subtitle player for Linux. So far I've been using the Greenfish subtitle player, which is aimed at Windows users and not properly working in Linux.
I wanted to create the application in qt, since I discovered that transparent windows are not possible in tkinter, but if anybody knows a better framework please suggest!
Now before starting I've been researching the web for several hours to discover how to get my application to show over a full screened flash video and it seems like this is not possible. However the aforementioned GF subtitle player manages to do so in Windows, but not in Linux(maybe it's also because it's running through wine).
So my question is it possible to create a transparent application that remains over a fullscreened flash video and if so, could you point me in the right direction?
