I saw a previous similar question was answered and the solution was simply
pip install numpy
pip install scipy
then finally pip install statsmodels
Unable to install Statsmodels...python
I already have numpy and scipy successfully installed. Any other recommendations?

I had a same problem it got solved.Since python 3.6 may not support some dependencies and its in research phase i recommend you to use python 2.7.11 and try pip install statsmodels
There might be some error regarding visual c++ please download it to clear the process....(I had error saying visual c++ 14.0 python 2.7)

I am new to cygwin and python and trying to install scipy on Cygwin with the following command:
pip install SciPy-1.8.1-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl
But it says ERROR: SciPy-1.8.1-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl is not a supported wheel on this platform.
I saw various posts and they say that we need numpy+mkl for installing scipy so I tried to install
numpy-1.22.4+vanilla-cp38-cp38-win_amd64.whl but it also says that this particular wheel is not supported.
My Python is 64 bits and the version is 3.8.12.

I tried to find the version of the tags that my pip supports using import pip; print(pip.pep425tags.get_supported()) but it gave me AttributeError: module 'pip' has no attribute 'pep425tags'. I tried to update pip but in vain. How to find out the supported versions?

just rename the package to the following:
SciPy-1.8.1-cp38-none-any.whl
then install with:
python -m pip install SciPy-1.8.1-cp38-none-any.whl
I am currently on Linux x86-64 machine. I am trying to install opencv in my virtual environment using pip however the error I keep receiving is
ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement numpy==1.19.3 (from versions: 1.19.2+computecanada, 1.21.0+computecanada, 1.21.2+computecanada)
ERROR: No matching distribution found for numpy==1.19.3
I am running python 3.9.6 (64bit) and my current numpy version is 1.21.3. the command I've been using is pip install opencv-python. i've also tried uninstalling other instances of openCV and have tried the other options all with the same error. Does openCV not support numpy 1.21.3? Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?
On computecanada you don't need to install OpenCV.
You can use it by following these commands:
module spider opencv
module load opencv/version
Actually, this error happens if numpy version does not match OpenCV required version.
for my case:
I used python 3.6. so I solved this error by following:
pip install numpy==1.19.0
pip install opencv-python==3.4.11.45
after installing numpy I search which OpenCV version support this numpy version, I found 3.4.11.45 so I install it by 2 number command and it is working.
I've installed the latest python version 3.9.7 on my ubuntu 20.04 machine. I'm attempting to run some code that requires the Talos package, however I've attempted several times to install Talos using pip3. It does much of the work downloading and installing stuff, until it gets to something called "building wheel for scipy", and then after a lot of work, all I get is error messages. My first question is, is it possible that there is no version of Talos for 3.9.7, or that 3.9.7 is too advanced? If it should integrate Talos, how can I diagnose the problem so I can get it installed? Thx. J
This could be because the wrong version of Cython is being picked up. I have experienced this being the cause of scipy build errors in the past. I would try a pip3 install --upgrade cython first.
I can not for the life of me figure out how to install the package statsmodels for Python 3. It feels like I've tried everything, but nothing is working.

Cython is required to compile statsmodels from a development branch.
Please install Cython or download a source release of statsmodels.
So I try:

I installed cython by installing anaconda. I have tried almost all answers I could find by basic googling. But things just don't seem to be working.
Instead of listing the input\output of what I have tried I now only show the first steps, but let me know if you want to see the output of any commands.

I ran into this same problem lastnight trying to install statsmodels. Finally what worked was installing the Microsoft Visual C++ compiler for Python found here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=44266 then installing statsmodels by doing pip install statsmodels. I had already installed Cython by using pip. Though I do realize that was for Python 2.7. There doesn't seem to be this compiler available for Python 3.
The main statsmodels on PyPI is very old and uses a nonstandard setup. The release candidate for 0.10.0 is out now, and I would strongly recommend you use this one. You can install it using
pip install statsmodels=0.10.0rc2 --pre
It has wheels for all of the major platforms (Win/OSX/Linux), so you shouldn't see issues related to Cython.
To install statsmodels under anaconda, use
conda install statsmodels
The package is available in the repository of anacondata in version 0.8.0 which is the latest on pip as of now.
anaconda is not "just" a Python installation, it also contains the conda package manager that can install pre-built packages from the main repository of anaconda or from other "channels". It is not advisable to install packages that are available from the anaconda channel with pip, in general.
A comment on the issue of Cython here: to use Cython, your computer needs also a "development environment", that is the availability of a C compiler, of the Python development headers, among others. The C compiler must be compatible with the version of Python for which Cython is installed.
I'm trying to start with OpenCV with python. I have experience c# and I have knowledge of c++. However, I feel more comfortable with python instead of c++. I installed OpenCV then python 3.4 in visual studio 2015. At the beginning I've received an error numpy, "Module couldn't be found", thankfully, I resolved it. The I got another error cv2 "Module couldn't be found" I asked an question yesterday, but I think the question has been left away. Anyways, I'm not complaining, but I still need some help please to stat with OpenCV in python.

It's very common to install Python packages through pip today (recursive acronym for pip installs packages). However, this is not that trivial under Windows.
How to install matplotlib:
Try to open a commandline and type in pip install matplotlib. If this does not work, you'll need to do some more work to get pip running. I gave a detailed answere here: Not sure how to fix this Cmd command error?.
How to install OpenCV:
The Python OpenCV DLL must be made for your version of Python and your system architecture (or, to be more specific, the architecture your Python was compiled for).
Download OpenCV for your Python version (2/3)
Try replacing the x64 version with the x86 version
There are a lot of different binaries here: http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#opencv. Try to get the one exactly matching your Python version and System architecture and install it via pip (cp35 means CPython version 3.5 ect.).
If you have the OpenCV .whl file matching your system configuration, do pip install file.whl.

pip install matplotlib
