How do I set layout's fixed height in PyQt5? - python

I am trying to set a fixed height for QHBoxLayout. To elaborate more on that, I need to set a specific height for my Horizontal layout. However, I cannot find the proper way to do so. What should I do to make this happen?

As noted by #ekhumuro in QHBoxLayout you can not set the fixed height, you must do that to the widget where it will be contained as I show below:

PyQt5 - Custom widgets open in separate windows rather than in same window

I'm new at PyQt, and I'm trying to create a main window containing two custom widgets, the first being a data grapher, the second being a QGridLayout containing QLabels. Problem is: the two widgets open in separate windows and have no content.
I've found multiple posts with a similar problem:

PyQt5: How to place a QPixmap on top of another QPixmap?

I would like to place a QPixmap on another QPixmap. Both have the same size, so I would just like to make an overlay. The overlay image has a transparent elipse in the middle. I figure they should be QPixmap format, however I dont know how to place them on top of each other and keep them in place when resizing the window. creating and removing widgets is almost always a bad idea, and your code falls into those bad ideas, it's always best to hide the widgets and for that you should use the QStackedWidget, what QStackedWidget does is just make a widget visible on all widgets that you have been assigned by changing the currentIndex.

PySide QLabel doesn't fill the available height

In the GUI, the styling applied to the QLabel is applied only upto the height of the text in it. How do I increase it to fill the available region?
