I try all the night for my problem so now I just ask the question here.
It's seems simple : how to disable a spinbox with a radiobutton?
I try to create 2 functions disable and enable and use the command in the command radiobutton but it does nothing. I try also to use the "parents" thing and it's not working. I try to just use a if but like always : not working.
Here (Python tkinter Entry widget status switch via Radio buttons) I found some code who do what I want but with pack (I just change the entry by spinbox and it worked). However, it's a big program and I can't recode and relearn all with pack.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks a lot 😭

I am using a code designed by another person in MAC OS. I am using Windows instead and have slightly modified it, but the problem comes when using the GUI that is created.
I have already dealt with a similar issue with a slider. Once I pressed the slider, I couldn´t release it or press another button. I was forced to quit the GUI and start again. I solved it by changing the event command from EVT_COMMAND_SCROLL to EVT_COMMAND_SCROLL_THUMBTRACK. However I did not understand why it worked in MAC OS and does not work in Windows.
Now, I want to close the GUI with the typical cross inside the red button in the right corner of the window. I can do it if it is the first order I do in the GUI. If I first press any button or slider, the exit button does not work.
It made me consider if a major problem is hidden in the code which I am not seeing. I am new at wxPython, which is the module used in the code.
I just ask for your opinion and hope it is a basic error.
Thanks very much
I'm using tkinter for my application (written in Python).
Till now I've needed only "next" button so I didnt have a problem, but now I want to add a screen (after several "next") where I'm asking a yes/no question so I want to have 2 buttons for "yes" and "no" and that the next button will disapear, and after that it will be returned and the others will disapeared.
Is there a way to do that?

Use your_button.pack_forget() for that. If you are using another place manager just use place_forget or grid_forget method.
.Hi everyone,
I`m still pretty new to python so, bear with me.
I am trying to setup a custom UI Window in maya, with a custom camera.
For this i am using the panelLayout, modelPanel and modelEditor commands.
Now, it's working so far with one exception.
The flags i've set for the modelEditor seem to be ignored entirely and i dont know why.
So here is the code:
if cmds.window("myWindow", exists=True):
cmds.deleteUI('myWindow')
cmds.window("myWindow")
cmds.paneLayout(configuration="single", w=1000, h=500)
cmds.modelPanel()
cmds.modelEditor(modelPanel="modelPanel4", allObjects=False, polymeshes=True, imagePlane=True, displayAppearance="smoothShaded")
cmds.showWindow("myWindow")
I want only polyMeshes and imgagePlanes to show in this window, aswell as to have the displayAppearance set to "smoothShaded".
Nnothing else, including the grid, should be visible at this point.
but, everything show up in the window, as if i had'nt set a single flag.
any help is much appreciated
All the flags in modelEditor() work fine in Maya 2016.5 and Maya 2018. I've checked it.
import maya.cmds as cmds
if cmds.window("myWindow", exists=True):
cmds.deleteUI('myWindow')
cmds.window("myWindow")
cmds.paneLayout(configuration="single", w=1000, h=500)
cmds.modelPanel()
cmds.modelEditor(modelPanel="modelPanel4",
allObjects=False,
polymeshes=True,
imagePlane=False,
displayAppearance="smoothShaded")
cmds.showWindow("myWindow")
The problem might appear when you click myWindow or press any key. It'll show not perspective view (modelPanel4) but the other view (for instance camera1 view).
I'm using Gtk to build an application on Linux using Python 3. I'm trying to use a Gtk.HeaderBar. So far it's been working Ok, but it seems that I can't get it to expand it's child widgets. For example:
As you can see above, I've tried putting my Gtk.Entry into the Gtk.HeaderBar, but even with things like Gtk.Entry.set_hexpand(True) it simply refuses to expand. I've even tried putting it inside a Gtk.Box, expanding the Gtk.Box, then adding the Gtk.Entry inside that. Even when I set the Gtk.Entry as a custom title for the Gtk.HeaderBar, this happens:
What's causing this? How can I fix it?
Enabling hexpand only says that you want the widget to be allocated all the remaining space; it does not actually resize your widget. You want the halign property set to GTK_ALIGN_FILL (or whatever it's called in Python) in addition to hexpand.
Check the diagrams on this page for a visual explanation.
You can use Box instead of Headerbar with window.set_titlebar method
I am trying to extend a unity appindicator for project hamster. What I want to do is have a text entry directly in the indicator menu. I have seen this for example in the ubuntu memenu, but I cannot figure out how to get it to work with pygtk. I have searched for a while and found nothing. Does anyone know how to do this?
I'm pretty sure there is no way to add that in a menu in PyGTK, but you might try a borderless window popup.
