How do I change the colour of my QR code? - python

I want to make a QR code with python. The output is a white background with a black qr code. How do I change both of them?
from tkinter import *
import os
import pyqrcode
window = Tk()
window.geometry("550x350")
window.configure(bg="#0434a0")
window.title("QR Code Maker")
photo = PhotoImage(file = "logo.png")
window.iconphoto(False, photo)
def generate():
if len(Subject.get())!=0 :
global qr,photo
qr = pyqrcode.create(Subject.get())
photo = BitmapImage(data = qr.xbm(scale=8))
else:
messagebox.showinfo("Voer een URL in...")
try:
showcode()
except:
pass
def showcode():
imageLabel.config(image = photo)
subLabel.config(text="QR van " + Subject.get())

The documentation of this module can be found here: PyQRCode Module Documentation
It says that the various methods of this module (e.g. png, if you want to get the QR code as a png image) take a background parameter that lets you define the background color, as well as a module_color parameter for the code itself.

pyqrcode module has not been updated for over 5 years. Use qrcode module instead. Note that qrcode module requires Pillow module.
...
from PIL import ImageTk
import qrcode
...
def generate():
try:
subject = Subject.get().strip()
if len(subject) != 0:
# adjust border and box_size to suit your case
qr = qrcode.QRCode(border=2, box_size=10)
qr.add_data(subject)
# change fill_color and back_color to whatever you want
img = qr.make_image(fill_color='blue', back_color='cyan')
photo = ImageTk.PhotoImage(img)
showcode(subject, photo)
else:
messagebox.showinfo("Voer een URL in...")
except Exception as ex:
print(ex)
def showcode(subject, photo):
imageLabel.config(image=photo)
imageLabel.image = photo # keep a reference of the image to avoid garbage collection
subLabel.config(text="QR van " + subject)
...
Note that I pass the photo and subject to showcode() instead of using global variables.
Suggest to merge the code in showcode() into generate().

Difficulty decoding image with base64 library

I'm having trouble decoding an image when I import it from another file.
I have four .py files to make two buttons.
In the first, on line 21, the button works and brings the image, in the second, on line 28, which is imported from another file, it appears as a button but without an image. How can I resolve this?

I tried to create a button by importing the base64 image from another file.
There are two buttons in the application, one works and the image appears, the other does not work and the image does not appear. I would like to make the second one work.
All the code will generate this image. The bottom button that doesn't show the image is in the widgets.py file
I don't know why, but when I import it, it doesn't work.
Thank you in advance for your attention and I apologize if something was wrong or out of standard, my English is not very good.
It is because there is no variable referencing the instance of Botoes(), so it will be garbage collected (so as the image inside it).
Just use a variable to store the instance of Botoes():
class Janela(Images):
def __init__(self) -> None:
self.images_base64()
self.tamJanela()
def tamJanela(self):
self.janela_doMenu = tk.Tk()
janela = self.janela_doMenu
# janela.state('zoomed')
janela.title('Disk Gás Gonçalves')
janela.configure(background=preto_claro)
janela.geometry("%dx%d" % (janela.winfo_screenwidth(), janela.winfo_screenheight()))
# Here the code works ###############################################################
self.img_icoName = tk.PhotoImage(data=base64.b64decode(self.editUser))
self.rotulo_nome2 = tk.Button(master=janela, image=self.img_icoName, activebackground='#00FA9A', bg='#4F4F4F',
highlightbackground='#4F4F4F', highlightcolor='#4F4F4F')
self.rotulo_nome2.grid(row=0, column=0)
# need a variable to store the instance of Botoes
# to avoid garbage collection
botoes = Botoes(janela)
janela.minsize(1200, 640)
janela.mainloop()

How to display images in python simple gui from a api url

I want to read a image from api, but I am getting a error TypeError: 'module' object is not callable. I am trying to make a random meme generator
import PySimpleGUI as sg
from PIL import Image
import requests, json
cutURL = 'https://meme-api-python.herokuapp.com/gimme'
imageURL = json.loads(requests.get(cutURL).content)["url"]
img = Image(requests.get(imageURL).content)
img_box = sg.Image(img)
window = sg.Window('', [[img_box]])
while True:
event, values = window.read()
if event is None:
break
window.close()
Here is the response of the api

I tried using python simple gui module, IS there alternative way to make a random meme generator.
PIL.Image is a module, you can not call it by Image(...), maybe you need call it by Image.open(...). At the same, tkinter/PySimpleGUI cannot handle JPG image, so conversion to PNG image is required.
from io import BytesIO
import PySimpleGUI as sg
from PIL import Image
import requests, json
def image_to_data(im):
"""
Image object to bytes object.
: Parameters
im - Image object
: Return
bytes object.
"""
with BytesIO() as output:
im.save(output, format="PNG")
data = output.getvalue()
return data
cutURL = 'https://meme-api-python.herokuapp.com/gimme'
imageURL = json.loads(requests.get(cutURL).content)["url"]
data = requests.get(imageURL).content
stream = BytesIO(data)
img = Image.open(stream)
img_box = sg.Image(image_to_data(img))
window = sg.Window('', [[img_box]], finalize=True)
# Check if the size of the window is greater than the screen
w1, h1 = window.size
w2, h2 = sg.Window.get_screen_size()
if w1>w2 or h1>h2:
window.move(0, 0)
while True:
event, values = window.read()
if event is None:
break
window.close()
You need to use Image.open(...) - Image is a module, not a class. You can find a tutorial in the official PIL documentation.
You may need to put the response content in a BytesIO object before you can use Image.open on it. BytesIO is a file-like object that exists only in memory. Most functions like Image.open that expect a file-like object will also accept BytesIO and StringIO (the text equivalent) objects.
Example:
from io import BytesIO
def get_image(url):
data = BytesIO(requests.get(url).content)
return Image.open(data)
I would do it with tk its simple and fast
def window():
root = tk.Tk()
panel = Label(root)
panel.pack()
img = None
def updata():
response = requests.get(https://meme-api-python.herokuapp.com/gimme)
img = Image.open(BytesIO(response.content))
img = img.resize((640, 480), Image.ANTIALIAS) #custom resolution
img = ImageTk.PhotoImage(img)
panel.config(image=img)
panel.image = img
root.update_idletasks()
root.after(30, updata)
updata()
root.mainloop()

Issue with managin images with tkinter from python

Hope you are all okay. I'm working in my firts app built with tkinter in OOP. My assignment is to creaty a GUI for a supermarket. One of the windows I need to build is one that show information about a product in the stock. Including an image of the product. The way I have been working on it is to having the images of my products named with the ID number of each product. But there is a bug i can´t solve, someway the code does not reconogize the instruccion to put the image I ask in the window created with the rest of information. This is the code I´m working in. Any help or answer you could give will help me a lot. Is my first project and I haven´t sleep very well.
Sorry for programming in spanish, btw.

doesn't do anythinng when I run the ascii art program in pycharm

I have been working on this project for a while. What Ascii does is when we run the program, it asks for a picture, and after we give it the picture it changes it into symbols/letters
if u still didn't understand, read this:
ASCII art is a graphic design technique that uses computers for presentation and consists of pictures pieced together from the 95 printable characters defined by the ASCII Standard from 1963 and ASCII compliant character sets with proprietary extended characters.
so here is the code I wrote in python (Pycharm, a Python IDE):
import PIL.Image
ASCII_CHARS = ["#", "#", "S", "%", "?", "*", "+", ";", ":", ",", "."]
def resize_image(image, new_width=100):
width, height = image.size
ratio = height / width / 1.65
new_height = int(new_width * ratio)
resized_image = image.resize((new_width, new_height))
return(resized_image)
def grayify(image):
grayscale_image = image.convert("L")
return(grayscale_image)
def pixels_to_ascii(image):
pixels = image.getdata()
charecters = "".join([ASCII_CHARS[pixel//25] for pixel in pixels])
return(charecters)
def main(new_width=100):
path = input("Enter a valid pathname to an image :\n")
try:
image = PIL.Image.open(path)
except:
print(path, "is not a valid pathname to an image")
new_image_data = pixels_to_ascii(grayify(resize_image(image)))
pixel_count = len(new_image_data)
ascii_image = '\n'.join(new_image_data[i:(i+new_width)] for i in range(0, pixel_count, new_width))
print(ascii_image)
with open("ascii_image.txt", "w") as f:
f.write(ascii_image)
main()
and every time I run this I have 0 errors, 0 warnings, 0 weak warnings, and 0 typos. But it doesn't work and shows this:
Process finished with exit code 0
and nothing else, how can I fix this and make it work...
You are calling main() function inside the main() function itself, hence there is no output.
You should place main() without any indentation:
def main():
# code
main()
Best Practices for calling main() function:
if __name__ == "__main__":
main()
So that you can reuse this program further without execution of main function in any import.
One more thing, you are not doing anything in main function after opening image with PIL hence no output, and you should not write import PIL.Image if you are using PIL.Image, you should use import PIL, else it is recommended to use from PIL import Image when you want to use Image class from PIL. You are also using image inside the body of except.
Suggestions:
You are taking path to image file as input which is somewhat annoying to the user, you can use tkinter.filedialog to get file path like this:
from tkinter.filedialog import askopenfilename
.
.
def main():
path = askopenfilename(filetypes=(("Images", ["*.jpg", "*.png", "*.jpeg"]), ))
# ..

Using def function to call image from urllib import urlopen - python 2.7

I have made def function to call JPG image to display easily but it in not working property. Also I don't want to use urllib2. It says image_file = image_to_PhotoImage(image)
NameError: name 'image' is not defined
Any suggestions? Thank you
