Develop Reference

(Conda)Tensorflow-gpu installing

My goal is to use gpu(GE FORCE GTX 850M). I have tried according to this guide(https://docs.anaconda.com/anaconda/user-guide/tasks/tensorflow/). Tensoflow 2.8 is installed and keras also. But when I execute the test code, the output is as below. It must be that the code does not or cannot use gpu. What went wrong?

The anaconda guide looks outdated, because since Tensorflow 2.0, tensorflow and tensorflow-gpu are merged into one.
If you are using Tensorflow 2, I would advise you this guide https://www.tensorflow.org/install/gpu which has worked for me (do not download the latest cuDNN SDK version which is bugged but the one indicated in the tutorial)

In this guide https://www.tensorflow.org/install/source_windows, there are version configuration .It helped.

Why is Anaconda showing modules in my base environment?

I have been using Anaconda to build various environments. I noticed that if I use conda list in my base, Anaconda outputs many installed modules.
What are all of these modules?
Were they installed during the initial installation of the Anaconda? If so, how can you tell?
Does having modules in my base create problems? If so, how do I properly remove them?

Yes, this is normal and most of these are installed in the base environment with a default Anaconda installation. The anaconda package includes many packages,1 which I won't output all here, but you can check those that come with your specific version (anaconda=2019.07=py37_0 for win-64) with:

Having packages installed in base is not a problem, though many users prefer a minimal base installation, such as Miniconda or a Miniforge variant, which only include what is essential to run the conda (or mamba) CLI.
Mutating2 packages in base is prone to breaking the Conda installation. So, I don't recommend using the base for work (especially not the Python in there), and recommend Mambaforge for fresh installs.
[1] Note that Conda installs packages, not modules. The term modules refers to what Python packages bundle, but many of the Conda packages are non-Python dependencies.
[2] That is, any conda (install|remove|update) -n base operations. Though it definitely is recommended to keep the conda package updated, i.e., conda update -n base conda.

Error while installed tensor flow on windows

I created my own virtual environment for my work in python anaconda. I installed tensor flow and checked my version as tensorboard 2.3.1 pypi_0 pypi. However, when I am trying to import the following libraries

But even after installing tensor flow and with an upgraded version, I am getting the following error

Your tensorflow is being imported from
File "C:\Users\rp603\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python37\site-packages\tensorflow\python\pywrap_tensorflow.py"
which is a python 3.7 installation that is different from your anaconda one. You are likely seeing issues because of this.
Uninstall any python installation other than the anaconda one, you should not need them anymore. Also remove C:\Users\rp603\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python37 after uninstalling that python version to make sure no residues remain that can cause issues

Conda commands (ie: conda env list, sypder, jupyter lab) no longer work after 'conda update conda'

I used 'conda update conda' and I'm now having some problems. I'm on osx. I can no longer open the Anaconda-Navigator App from finder, nor start spyder or jupyter lab from the terminal. Below is the output I get if I try to open jupyter lab from the terminal.
I also added the contents of the base environment as requested.
I tried the command mentioned in this post but had no luck.

Updating conda can be tricky, depending on how it was installed previously.
To fix your current environment:
You can find and revert back to the previously working version using this command:
conda list --revisions
This will return a list of revisions to your conda environment, just
then select the revision you want (most recent working version) and run this command:
conda install --revision [n]

Why does Anaconda install a lot of unnecessary packages? Is this a settings issue that can be solved or am I not understanding conda env properly?

I have been studying some python lately and I think I have understood the "environments" concept (mainly though a pip youtube tutorial, and just to share with whoever's in need: 1, 2)
I tried the same set of concept understanding, this time using Anaconda (source), and these are my commands:
conda create -n testconda python=3.8 anaconda
(...yes ... enter... yes again...)
conda activate testconda
and I noticed it started installing a ton of packages, which I know some of them (like "Flask"), that aren't necessary.

So as far as I know (following the youtube tutorial I previously attached to my post), pip installs only required packages (preparing my env and latter - depending on what I install in my env).
Why is Anaconda installing all these packages?
Is there a way to change the settings to only required packages?
I get that some packages should be installed for the environment to work, but I think that some are not...
