How to install lxml? - python

The following error appears when i try pip install lxml

First you can download the lxml-3.4.2-cp34-none-win_amd64.whl and try to install it, if you have something wrong try with the win_32 version:

I tried installing C++ last version, installing lxml apart (pip install lxml), installing the wheel package and nothing works

I am using Python version 3.5.2.
I am tying to edit words and paragraphs in MSWord documents.
Before I can do that I need to install the docx module.
In command line I pointed it to path:
C:\Users\d\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python35-32\Scripts
and type:
pip install python-docx.

This is a well-known problem with installing the lxml Python library on Windows.
The TL;DR version here is you install lxml from a "binary installation package" which comes pre-compiled and takes care of all the details for you.

The 'cp' segment stands for 'C Python' (regular Python, as opposed to PyPy for example) and the version, so if you're using Python 2.7 you want one of the packages with -cp27- in the name. There are two of these, one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. You probably want 32-bit because that's the default Python install on Windows.
Once you download the binary installation package ("wheel"), you install it using pip, e.g.:
pip install lxml‑3.6.4‑cp27‑cp27m‑win32.whl

What's the error with 'xslt-config' not being recognized? I've searched that too but nothing I tried worked. I also tried to install libxml2 and libxslt, but that didn't work either (not recognized on the pypi?). The error about not finding the 'vcvarsall.bat' is confusing as well. Then it goes on at the end to say "compile failed with error code 1". Does anyone know what the computer is trying to tell me? I've tried reading through this code multiple times and haven't been able to reach a solution. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

libxml2 and libxslt are C-code libraries that lxml depends on. You might try installing lxml from a binary distribution and see if that gets you past this.

My untrained eyes do not see a syntax error that I can recognize. I looked in C:\Users\david\AppData\Local\Temp\1 with hidden files shown, and there is no pip-build-icytzvd1 folder.
I'm completely inexperienced with AWS. If a solution to this problem is worth finding, where could I find the solution? If it isn't worth finding a solution to this, is there an up-to-date guide to manually deploy Django on EC2 using Nginx, Gunicorn, PostreSQL, and Amazon AMI?

Fabric 1.4.3 that old. Really old the current version is 1.10.2. The reason that you can't find that temporary folder is because it's created by pip when you try to install fabric and cleared out afterwards. You can however see the current version.py or if you check out the project you will be able to see it for the version you are trying to install. The current version code looks a bit different from what you posted:

However I can't figure out why the following should produce an error either.

Why don't you just install the latest version of Frabric by using this requirements file: https://github.com/fabric/fabric/blob/master/dev-requirements.txt ? chances are you probably have the requirements installed already. In that case just do
pip install Fabric

I have been having the same issue. e5c5 is correct. It is a pycrypto installation issue. Try installing pycrypto as a standalone pip installation. It will probably throw an error message and ask you to install Visual Studio c++.
