I currently have a code that runs a dropdown button in kivy. I would like to send the value 1,2,3,4 into the main class when the value is selected.
Specifying chain of events:
click dropdown button
four options are displayed
select one of the four options ==> this is when the value gets sent back to the main class
dropdown button text replaced with the selection
I have tried using get_screen(), which is equivalent to get_running_app when using windows, but this was delayed. I also tried creating an external variable but this was delayed too.

When going from the first screen to the second screen, I want to pass a variable as an argument so that kivyMD can update the second screen from text stored in an excel file. The following is a skeleton of my app's functionality:
The user reaches Screen 1 thru the navigation drawer in KivyMD, screen 1 presents the user with two options on two small clickable MDCards:

After clicking on one of these, the app switches to screen 2 with a single big MDCard, the text on this MDCard should change to reflect the option the user chose.
However, kivy is pulling the text that is to be displayed on the big MDCard from an excel file.
The variable that I want to pass from screen 1 to screen 2 is simply a number (1 or 2) that will tell kivy which row in the excel file it should pull the text from
If the user clicks "Change text to 1" then the first screen should pass "1" as the argument row_x to the function def change_text() (see screen 2 .py) so that the text in row 1 of excel can be displayed on the second screen. How can I achieve this?

I found the answer and now it works flawlessly. Someone over on Reddit (u/Username_RANDINT) helped me, this is what they said:
The ScreenManager has a get_screen() method. You could use it to get
the instance of the second screen and call the change_text() method on
that. In the same place where you switch screens, add another line:

Then the same for the other card, just pass in 2 instead of 1.
I have a problem with my Kivy Python Code. The error occurred because self.root.ids gets access to widgets located in the root widget of the main class. To access the secondary screen elements, you need to add it to the main class (in your case, in ScreenManager) and set its id. Also, you have a lot of imported excess, so that it is clearly visible, I advise you to use Pycharm or something like that.

I am using the FileChooserListView from kivy and have run into a overlapping text on scroll with screens that another user came across as well. I looked through their post on GitHub and read that some people are using the plyer FileChooser. I also saw that someone mentioned that it has to do with the Building function of the .kv file. I created a new kivy app and the problem did not occur, but when I return to my older app (no changes of any kind) the problem still occurs.
Sorry for the long post, but I am unsure how these two kivy app codes are different. Am I calling something twice that is causing the FileChooser to "hold" it's position? I am not oppose to using plyer's FileChooser, but could someone give me an example on how to implement it?

After taking a break from this for while and restarting my brain, I was able to find the problem.
Not included in my question, I have a couple more .kv files that have a similar layout to the training.kv. They are used to access other screens. I found that I was calling FileChooserListView in each screen and I belive that is why I was seeing the stacking problem. I ended up removing all of them except for the one in my training.kv file and all is working.
i am trying to make an app, a game actually that will display random screens when the "NEXT" button is touched, so i made the screens and the labels to be displayed on each screen but i cant get it to display a random screen when the "NEXT" button is touched, it just follows a pattern, would anyone help me here? heres the code:

List of the names of all the Screen widgets added. The list is
read only.
screens_names is an AliasProperty and is read-only. It is updated
if the screen list changes or the name of a screen changes.

Stop / Play Music
You might want to use a ToggleButton instead of Button for playing music. Please refer to the example below.

I want to move from one TextBox to another TextBox by pressing the enter key. How can this be accomplished?

Since you want to use Enter to change the focus, I guess you do not want a multiline texinput. Therefore, one option would be use on_text_validate event:
on_text_validate
Fired only in multiline=False mode when the user hits ‘enter’. This will also unfocus the textinput.
In your kv file you can do something like:
